We meet every 1st and 3rd Saturday to explore a topic of interest to freethinkers and humanists, presented this time by Jerry. (Click here for details) As always, bring along a lunch if you would like to stay after the meeting to visit with others more casually.

For Saturday, March 16: Having rejected the dualistic mind – body illusion and related “paranormal” stuff, we will consider views held by Susan Blackmore and others regarding how to try to understand our natural inclination to accept such concepts/processes as free will, the self, and consciousness that are going on in our brains/minds. Blackmore moved on beyond her search for, and eventual rejection of, the paranormal to explore discoveries and theories about such concepts.
We will consider her conclusions and those of others and discuss our own thoughts on trying to understand these aspects of our human experience.
