New 4 Summer: Mary S. Young State Pk +CoffeeDate:
Thursday, July 12
Mary S. Young State Park
19900 Willamette Dr.
West Linn, OR 97068 US
Secular Walk and Talk
Note the earlier time, 9:30 am: the days are heating up so let’s gather in the coolness of mid-morning. Mary S. Young State Park–on the banks of the Willamette River, not far from the fabulous falls of the same name–is the perfect cool, forested walk for a hot summer’s day.
If you need a ride to the trailhead, contact the host about the possibility of a carpool from the Lloyd Center mall. We’ll walk ~50 minutes on the trail and then carpool to a nearby café for coffee/brunch.
(This walk may be called if we get heavy rain–instead, you can join the walkers meeting at 9:30 AM at Panera Bread at Clackamas Town Center; please move your RSVP to that meetup page.)
Members wait for people who RSVP and appreciate knowing who is coming; please cancel if you can’t attend. A good likeness on your profile photo will help us look for you.
>>Say It On Your Shirt<< We encourage the wearing of T-shirts supporting freethought or science and reason while on our walks–available from the SWaT Organizer or here: http://www.cafepress.com/
SWaT invites freethinkers from all atheist/humanist/skeptic groups in the Portland Metro area to join us for a moderate walk and interesting conversation. All ages and abilities are welcome. We don’t exclude anyone.
These New-4-Summer walks rotate among favorite greater-Portland parks on Thursday mornings and can require more exertion, but if you walked with us in the mall during the rainy season you should be in condition for the challenge. Check back here for our next destination 🙂
